Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
Sam and I met whilst both working at Newcastle Airport back in 2011, we both noticed each other quite early on, and after a few months he finally plucked up the courage to ask me out! We went on our first date to Jesmond Dene and have been inseparable ever since.
How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?
I was a little nervous as the thought of all of the focus being on me was terrifying, but those nerves soon turned to excitement when my Mam picked me up on the morning of my appointment. I was so pleased to have her there with me to be sharing such an important moment.
Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
I always knew I wanted something quite traditional with an A-line skirt, I love romantic lace detailing so was hoping the girls could find me something that ticked all those boxes.
Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey …
My journey with the girls could not have been more perfect, from the moment I walked through the door on that first appointment I felt comfortable and at ease. The whole team made me feel special and nothing was too much trouble for them.
They pulled out several gowns on my first appointment, all of which suited my body shape and had the little details which I’d requested… but also a couple of wild cards which I ended up falling in love with!
The girls never rushed or pushed me to make a decision, which is something I was really grateful for.
They understand that the dress is one of the most important decisions to make, and I’m just so pleased that I chose Y.A.P and had the girls there to share my journey.
How did you feel when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
Initially I was torn between two very different dresses, but after stepping back into the very first one I tried on I just knew it was the one for me. My mam is someone who will always be honest and will tell you if she doesn’t like something - she was speechless at the time so I knew it was a winner!
How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?
I don’t think I’ll ever feel as beautiful as I did on my wedding day, usually I put myself down a lot and do not have much confidence in the way I look, my dress just made me feel amazing! It fit like a glove, nipped me in at all the right places, and was how I’d always dreamt I’d look. It definitely gave me the confidence that I needed to walk down that aisle!
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal experience?
Personal, Unique, Unforgettable
Tell us about the perfect accessories …
I always dreamt of a long flowing veil and the girls picked out the most perfect cathedral style for me, plain but elegant.
I wore a simple hair piece with a small set of pearl ear rings and in the morning my dad brought me the most stunning diamond bracelet, something which I will treasure forever.
My favourite accessories were my shoes! They were a pale blue stiletto with diamond detailing and are easily the prettiest pair of shoes that I own!
Talk to us about the location and how you styled your day …
We married at Vallum Farm in Northumberland, the venue itself is stunning with a rustic feel which we loved.
We styled with hints of pale blue and white, with lots of leafy greenery. There were lots of lanterns and fairy lights which looked fab as we moved into the evening reception. Overall we kept it quite simple with personal touches.
Tell us about your chosen suppliers and how they made your day perfect …
Our photographers were absolute stars! Chris and Shazia from Chocolate Chip were everything we’d wanted in a photographer, they made everyone feel comfortable, didn’t steal us away from our guests for too long but managed to get the most perfect shots of our day.
Our florist was Sharon from Wild With Love, who was just amazing in every way! She is such a lovely lady who worked tirelessly to create the vision that we had in mind, even when I called her the night before to bring some extra flowers for the bridesmaids hair she was happy to oblige.
Our 3 tier cake was made by Olivia Lily Cake Company, we’re still talking about the cake almost 5 months later! I’ve never tasted anything like it, so delicious with a different flavour for each tier.
My make up was done by Anneka, my long time beautician and make up artist from The beauty Spot, she knew exactly what I wanted without me even having to tell her!
My hair was done by the lovely Carly from The Big Event, I had an image in my mind and she managed to turn that into reality with the most stunning up do! She did a fabulous job on the bridesmaids hair too.
Both ladies made us feel comfortable and relaxed in the morning and we had such a giggle whilst being pampered.
If you could give one piece of advice for future Y.A.P brides about to embark on their bridal journey, what would it be?
Don’t stress! Remember to enjoy every moment of both the planning process and the big day itself as it will be over before you know it.
We absolutely adored being a part of your bridal journey Tina - thank you for sharing Your Love Story with us, We wish You & Sam a lifetime of love & happiness.
