Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns...

I felt excited, anxious and a little nervous. Choosing your dress is a nerve racking experience, however the Y.A.P girls know how to put you at ease and make the experience a very enjoyable one. Some days I wish I could do it all again.

On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts...

Y.A.P Bridal Boutique is beautiful, fresh, friendly and modern. And the story behind Y.A.P makes the journey all that more special.

Your Style Ideas...

I tried to stay open minded when thinking about what style of gown I wanted, but I always knew I wanted a relaxed, vintage detailed, lightweight gown.

Your Consultation to Finding the One...

My bridal stylist Heather listened to my requirements and found dresses that matched my ideas - unlike my previous appointments elsewhere.

Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received...

Y.A.P is a such a welcoming boutique who make you feel like you are their one and only customer. All the Y.A.P girls are an asset to the boutique. I decided last minute that I was having a bridesmaid and Danni was amazing when I brought my bridesmaid to try on a Twobirds dress. We were tight on time for ordering the dress however the girls ensured it arrived on time.

How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’...

My gown was the first one I saw when I walked into the gown side of the boutique. I selected it to try on, but decided to try on my other choices first. The other dresses I'd chosen didn’t come close to how I felt when I tried ‘the One’ on. I fell in love with it and I could imagine myself walking down the aisle in it. The reactions from my friends and mum confirmed it was ‘the One’.

Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey…

Like I said before from the start I was made to feel like I was the teams one and only customer. 5 Star Service from the girls who know their dresses and designers. Knowledgeable and reassuring especially when you have a little wobble of nerves just before you try on ‘your actual dress' when its arrived from the designer.

Tell us more about your day...

I wore peep toe crystal shoes by Kurt Geiger and a vintage crystal and pearl hair slide by Liberty In Love. My dress was so detailed I opted out of having a veil as I didn’t want anything to hide the embellishment of my gown.

Amazing! You build this image up in your head of how its all going to look on the day and its nerve racking in case that image doesn’t become a reality - I couldn’t of been happier with how it all came together. I would wear my gown everyday if I could.

We were married and held our reception at South Causey Inn.

Mark and I have been together 7 years and already have two little boys so we felt we were past the big formal wedding…we wanted a relaxed yet traditional day. And South Causey Inn helped us achieve this a hundred times over.

I always wanted a vintage feel with pastel colours. Lots of white and pale pinks.

I chose a Twobirds bridesmaid dress in blush pink and this complimented our chosen colour scheme perfectly.

Our flowers were made by a local florist in Birtley called 'Flowers by Joanne' - she did an amazing job and produced exactly what I was looking for.

The dressing of the room was completed by the team at South Causey Inn. I chose from their collection and they dressed the room to my requirements. I was a little fussy at times but Sean out co-ordinated everything and assured me it will be dressed to perfection and boy did they deliver. Everything exactly how I imagined it. And we received so many lovely comments regarding the room from our guests.

Our Photographer was Thomas Jackson, from 'Thomas Jackson Photography'. He captured our day perfectly.

We chose to have our day videoed by 'A little Less Salt', Neil is an old friend of myself and having seen his work on other weddings I knew I wanted him to capture our day. Knowing Neil made it all that more relaxed. Having seen our highlights video we are so excited for the real thing.

Our Cake was made by 'Everybody Loves Cake', we had a Jam sponge tier, a double chocolate layer and a lemon tier. The cake not only looked amazing but tasted it too.

Hair was by 'Mandi Ritchie' and Make up by 'Make up by Kel' -  both listened to my ideas and delivered on them making myself and my bridesmade feel a million dollars.

Helen you looked incredible - we know your day will have been everything you dreamed of and more - thank you for sharing your Y.A.P Bridal Journey and to Thomas Jackson Photography for these gorgeous snaps xxx
