Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…

Tom and I met on a dating app. With us both working as doctors in different hospitals and in different specialities our paths would never have crossed. Our first date was at Lumley Castle and we were the last ones to leave the restaurant chatting the evening away without even noticing that everyone else had left! When they say ‘you know, you know’ and I definitely knew when I met Tom that he could be the one.

How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?

I was both excited and nervous as I just didn’t know what to expect. I had been looking on pinterest and the internet beforehand so had a vague idea of what I wanted. I had never tried a wedding dress on in my life and honestly didn’t think I would find my dress during my first appointment.

Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?

Yes, I wanted something simplistic, figure hugging and a dress that would be a timeless classic.

Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey

Ruth was my bridal consultant and was amazing from the onset. I was asked how I wanted to feel on the day and that was the first time that I imagined myself walking down the aisle and seeing Tom. I wanted to feel special but also myself. Ruth then brought out a few dresses to start trying on, I felt that she understood what I was after and it was the second dress that I fell in love with. I felt that I was part of something beautiful. The service I received was outstanding, I really couldn’t fault a thing

How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?

As soon as I put the dress on I knew that it was very me and I could see myself walking down the aisle with it. The reactions from my mum and cousin confirmed exactly what I felt. Every dress that I tried on after that I just kept comparing it to that one dress and nothing came close and that confirmed it for me. When I went back to try it on again I couldn’t stop smiling as I just knew that was my dress

How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?

I felt amazing, confident and me throughout the whole day. I loved how my dress made me feel.

What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey?

Unforgettable, special, magical

Talk to us about the location and how you styled your day …

Tom and I got married at Bamburgh castle, we had the ceremony in the Kings Hall. We had the drinks reception with canapés on the battery terrace with stunning views of the Northumberland coast and with the Farne Islands in view. The reception was in a Marquee on the cricket pitch in the middle of the village. Sharon from Wild with Love helped style the Kings Hall with gorgeous floral displays and Sharon also did our bouquets and button holes while Fiona and Bill from the Great British Bash helped with the styling of the marquee. Both suppliers I would highly recommend.

Tell us about your chosen suppliers and how they made your day perfect …

The first supplier I knew I just had to book was Gill Edgerley from Unfurl photography and was ecstatic when she told me she was available for the day- the photos speak for themselves. Gill captured each moment perfectly. We had Andew Green from Tyne digital as our videographer and again he was absolutely amazing and created truly magical footage that we can treasure for years to come. Aimee Mckenry from Lisa Jones hair and make up did both my hair and make up and also the bridesmaids too with the help of her assistant. We were ready in no time and we all looked fabulous! I had my trial with Aimee and she knew exactly how I wanted to look on the day and managed to achieve this with ease. Lucy Bewley was our pianist and she played beautifully in the Kings Hall as the guests were arriving. We knew we wanted live music for our guests and opted to go for blue Lion band who kept everyone dancing all night. Jacob and Tori were our caterers who provided a wonderful wedding breakfast which drew very positive reviews from our guests.

Tell us about your perfect accessories …

I wore teardrop pearl and silver earrings to match the pearls on the back of my dress and a gold with white gold bracelet that Tom had bought me as a present. My hair wire was with pearls and Swarovski crystals from a shop on Etsy and I also worse a satin lined finger tip length veil which was perfect for the beach photos.
