Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
David and I met at Chinese school which we used to go to every Sunday when we were younger. We started out as friends first then dated after. We’d been together for almost 13 years before we got married. During that time we’d been through so much together, grown up together and couldn’t be happier.
How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?
I was very excited! Y.A.P was the first and only bridal shop that I went to. I had my mum and two of my bridesmaids with me and couldn’t wait to try on dresses.
Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
I had a few ideas of what I did and didn’t like. I wanted a dress that showed my figure, had beautiful detailing and a WOW factor. I knew I’d have to try on different styles to know what suited me and what I felt comfortable in.
Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey
Louise was great at understanding what kind of dress I had in mind, she picked out different dresses for me to try on; one of them being THE one! The girls at Y.A.P were all so knowledgeable, friendly and honest.
How did you feel when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
Louise picked out Kendra by Mori Lee. It was the last dress that I tried on and I almost didn’t because it looked so different on the hanger... I’m so glad that I did though! When I put it on I was honestly speechless and Louise could see how much I loved the dress. My mum and bridesmaids picked up that I’d gone quiet when trying on the dress and they soon knew why. I could tell by their first reactions how much they loved the dress too.
How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?
I felt amazing, confident and comfortable throughout the whole day. I love how my dress made me feel.
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal experience?
Friendly. Personal. Magical.
Tell us about the perfect accessories …
My veil was also from Y.A.P. Heather was so kind and helpful in finding the right one for me. My shoes were from Jenny Packham and matched the dress so well and were very comfortable. I wore a diamond necklace, which David gave me for our 10 year anniversary and I wore diamond earrings borrowed from my mum.
Talk to us about the location and how you styled your day …
We got married at Alnwick Garden in Northumberland. We enjoy visiting the gardens and loved the idea of having our photos by the beautiful fountain and in and amongst the beautiful grounds. We kept the styling simple as the natural beauty of the gardens already helped us with this so much. We added fairy lights, lanterns and rose petals to decorate The Pavilion. We went for a dusty rose colour theme, which were the colour of the bridesmaid’s dresses and the groomsmen’s ties and boutonnières.
Tell us about your chosen suppliers and how they made your day perfect …
We were so lucky to have the most amazing team of suppliers who made our day perfect for us. Nothing was too much and I’d recommend them all. Thank you so much to Laura Oddity Make Up, Victoria’s Hair Salon, Zoe Emilie Photography, Jonnee Shek (Videographer), Groom & Co (seamstress), Troughear Suit Hire, The Green Washington (Florist), Audiocover and AMV Live Music (Band), Master Chow Bakery (Cake) and last but not least Y.A.P.
If you could give one piece of advice for future Y.A.P brides about to embark on their bridal journey, what would it be?
Enjoy every second because it goes so quickly. Make sure you and your new hubby take a moment to absorb everything that is happening and look out to see everyone who is there for you on your special day.
Victoria our Louise adored looking after you throughout your bridal journey, and we wish you and David a lifetime of love and happiness! Forever a part of the Y.A.P family.
You are Precious always,
Love, Your Y.A.P team xoxo
